Instructional Model
For students in Foundation to Year 2, the Curiosity Room brings learning to life through hands-on exploration and creativity. Students explore Animals themes, including the Farm, Zoo, Aquarium, and Rainforest, as well as Community themes such as the Fire Station, Hairdresser, Hospital, and Construction sites.
The space is embedded into weekly writing lessons to inspire creativity and provide meaningful, real-world contexts for learning. Each session follows a simple structure:
- 15 minutes of play to explore and spark ideas
- 5 minutes to pack up and reflect
- 30 minutes of writing back in the classroom to develop and extend ideas
